Hello friends, fellow internet marketers and SEO’s, you all are welcome to my blog riturajmishra.com. I have written a lot about myself in my very first post, which can be read here, I want to reiterate some points here again. (Its going to a long post, so please bear with me)

I am working in the SEO, SEM and Affiliate Marketing business for the last 5 years; basically I started with search engine optimization with a full time job. I also started a small company with four of my friends and we have done a great business for sometime and made some good bucks . I was earning handsome money at that time. I was working a lot, shuffling between a fulltime job and working for my own company projects. I was continuously spending 15 to 18 hours a day, seven days a week.

Gradually I learnt several skills including Search Engine Marketing (using Google Adwords and YSM), Social Media and Affiliate Marketing. As time passed I realized that the way I am doing stuff was the same “time trading” as in my regular job, because you have projects and clients and you need to complete the work for getting money. NO Work NO Pay besides I was also working very hard, with a very little time left for myself and my family. After running this race for a year and a half I realized that I cannot continue in this manner any more. I became frustrated replying emails, talking several hours on phone with the clients and all other stuff.

I questioned myself, is this quality of life which I wanted? And answer came was a blunt NO. What I wanted was a lot of money and a lot of time to spend it with my family and friends. After this stage I started to think about passive income, but how..? A new question.

Suddenly one day an idea stroked in my mind. Why not do the same affiliate marketing, which I was doing for my company (why this haven’t came before in my mind, what an idiot I was?) .

Then I seriously started to learn different aspects and horizons of affiliate and CPA marketing. I dug deeper to learn about landing pages, choosing products, finding desperate niches, how to test a market, optimizing SEO and PPC campaigns. Preparing preselling content and above all how can I hire persons to do this work for me, so that I can save time.

Success doesn’t come early. I have prior experience with PPC, but there I was burning my clients bucks, so I didn’t thought seriously about keyword level tracking and campaign optimization, actually he had a very huge budget so few thousand dollars a month doesn’t matter to him.

But I learnt the lesson of tracking and campaign and bid optimization a very hard way, when I spend whole of my month’s salary (plus some more from my savings). Gradually I learnt a lot and my campaigns become profitable.

In present I am not a full time internet marketer, I am doing it part time with my regular job (8 hours a day 4 days a week, as a consultant). There are lot more reasons for not leaving my job, some of them are personal. But my target is to leave it by the end of July 2010 and become a full time internet marketer.

I have started this blog in the “Make Money Online Niche” despite the fact that there are number of blogs in this niche and there are some very good internet marketers like ShoeMoney, JohnCow, Amit Mehta, Mark Ling, JimKarter to name a few.

But one thing I noticed in the writing style of all of them is “ lack of simplicity, particularity for a newbie”. However I do not criticize anyone (neither can I ) I personally follow many of them, especially Jimkarter ( because of his simplicity and ready to help attitude).

I have started this blog keeping in mind ,all these points and I would like to share a real world examples and real steps to take for achieving success in internet marketing and live a life free of a rat race ( even I am not free in present )

I think I have a good command over my subjects, because I have proved it by applying the steps and achieving results, but many a times I myself get confused. This happens to most of the Internet marketers and rinse and repeat is the only formula for running any successful campaigns. So learning is a continuous process which every one has to follow.

Whom do I follow?

I follow SeoMoz, SearchEngineLand, JimKarter and Affilorama for updates in SEO/SEM and affiliate marketing. Choosing right resources to learn from is the most important factor in online marketing because 95% things are crap and self proclaimed gurus are there to only rip off your money. So before deciding about any resource, just cross check their credibility and accountability.

How do I make money?

I make money through my job (which I will leave within a year ) , my own clients ( whom I provide SEO and SEM services), Internet Marketing ( CPA Networks and Affiliate Marketing) and Google Adsense.
